Permissions
Searchemist asks only when needed and stays within what you allowed. Settings ▸ Permissions shows the current state.
Permission by feature
| Permission | Used by | Asked when |

| Calendars | Viewing, adding, deleting events | The first time you ask about events |
| Reminders | Setting and deleting reminders | The first time you set one |
| Contacts | Finding the person for messages, mail, calls | The first time you name someone |
| Location | Weather without a place name ("weather today") | The first time you ask without a place |
| Automation (Apple Events) | Controlling Messages, Mail, Music, Notes | The first time each app is used |
| Full Disk Access (optional) | File search outside your home folder | The card tells you when it helps |
If you denied one
Enable Searchemist under that item in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security. No restart needed. Without a permission the card says "… access needed" with an Open System Settings button.
NoteFile search, document summaries, math, units, timers, window placement, and system commands need no permission. Everything that leaves your Mac is listed under Network & privacy.
